Beddah Leather was founded by brothers Beddah and Rocky Katongo in 2019. Rocky, a trained shoe maker, and his brother make fine leather shoes in their workshop outside Lusaka.
Beddah Leather sells their shoes throughout Zambia. They see a strong demand for their shoes, plan to expand production and consider an additional workshop in a different part of the country.
Ubunthu started to train business skills to Beddah and Rocky, implement basic processes and develop a plan to grow the business and create additional job opportunities.
With support from Ubunthu, Beddah Leather has expanded and upgraded their workshop workshop. Thereafter a state-of-the-art industrial sewing machine was purchased, a considerable upgrade to the hand operated one they used before.
