The fight against corruption takes a significant stride forward Ubunthu joins forces with GIZ to launch the transformative “Activating Citizen Voices for Education” project. Set to be implemented over six months, this groundbreaking initiative aims to empower community members in Choma District, enabling them to be powerful agents of change and accountability in the education sector. Ubunthu, known for its unwavering commitment to creating positive social impact, has partnered with GIZ in a momentous collaboration that promises to foster transparency, accountability, and good governance in the field of education.
The “Activating Citizen Voices for Education” project which is under the EnACT Programme and is co–financed by the European Union will engage the local populace, including parents, teachers, students, government departments, and concerned citizens, in the collective effort to identify, tackle, and prevent corruption within the education sector. By empowering citizens with knowledge and awareness, the project seeks to create a network of informed and vigilant individuals who can actively contribute to ensuring that educational resources are utilized for their intended purpose.
With a keen focus on capacity building, the project will conduct workshops, training sessions, and awareness campaigns designed to educate participants about various forms of corruption and the detrimental effects they can have on the education system. Participants will be equipped with practical tools and strategies to detect and report corrupt practices, fostering an environment where transparency and integrity can flourish.
