Ubunthu Donates To Local Schools

Choma District Education Board Secretary Dennis Hameja has praised Ubunthu for their continued support and promotion of quality education through its community programming in the district.

Hameja disclosed that Ubunthu has helped schools in the district by providing laptop computers which had been given as a donation to Ubunthu for that purpose and many other assorted items to St Mulumba Special School among other interventions.

The DEBS said the donation of six laptop computers has brought a sigh of relief to the school management as pupils will now find it easier to learn computer lessons. However, Hameja noted that the district still has schools facing challenges such classroom space and lack of computers, hence asking authorities and other stakeholders to emulate Ubunthu and consider helping lift the education standard in the district.

Speaking during the handover of the laptops, assorted foodstuffs and dental kits, all of which had been given as a donation to Ubunthu, Choma District Education Standards Officer Nyambe Mukubesa promised to take good care of the donated items to make sure the learners benefit.
