His Royal Highness Chief Cooma of Cooma Chiefdom has expressed admiration for the work of Ubuntu Enablers, a non-profit organization making significant strides in his chiefdom. In July, 2024 Ubuntu’s Founder and CEO Manfred Klepacz travelled to Zambia. As per his custom, during his visit paid a courtesy call to His Royal Highness Chief Cooma at his palace in Sikalongo of Choma District.
Speaking to Manfred at his palace, the Chief emphasized the need for Ubunthu to implement more community led projects that will in turn help the people in his chiefdom to benefit massively sighting the Goat breading project Ubunthu is supporting through Youth Development Organization (YDO) being implemented in Sililo village of Kazungula District which has benefited over 300 women in the Sikaunzwe ward.
Ubunthu Enablers has been actively involved in the chiefdom, focusing on initiatives such as Activating Citizen Voices for Education Project which was supported by the Federal Republic of Germany and co-financed by the European Union under the “Enabling Access to Justice, Civic Society Participation, and Transparency (EnACT) Program economic empowerment.
Activating Citizen Voices for Education is one notable project that sought to enhance the participation of citizens in governance, accountability and fighting corruption for effective public finance management in the education sector.
Chief Cooma’s endorsement reflects a growing recognition of the organization’s efforts. Ubunthu Enablers plans to continue expanding its programs and collaborating with local leaders to further enhance the community’s development. The organization’s approach, which emphasizes community involvement and sustainable practices, has resonated strongly with government’s effort in fighting poverty and job creation.
