PLASTPAVE ZAMBIA LTD

Plastpave Zambia Ltd (PZL) is a women led plastic recycling business located in Chilanga, Lusaka. The plant was established in August 2020. It is operating on a small scale, but has potential to become a leader in its field.

A team of helpers collects plastic waste within Lusaka which is then recycled into various quality construction products such as interlocking pavers, stepping stones, flower pots and fencing poles.

Since November 2021 Ubunthu works closely with Plastpave providing free expert consultancy on plastic recycling, process design, product portfolio and product development in order to increase production and optimize costs without compromising the quality of the products.

Plastpave has been invited by the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment which promotes opportunities and choice among poor people by increasing their access to a clean and safe environment.

The company also exhibited in a business Indaba and Expo which was organized by the Lusaka Chamber of Commerce. It was held on 27th-28th May, 2022 under the theme ‘Creating Opportunities to Access Finance & Market Linkages’. Those events have helped PZL to exhibit and market its products and meet with potential clients. Ubunthu is proud to support the growing business of Plastpave, being Ubunthu’s first signed project partner.
