Ubunthu Enablers has partnered with Choma Seed Co. to support the implementation of its Climate-Smart Agriculture and Farming as a Business Project in five schools in Choma District.
Following the successful implementation of the project, Choma Seed Co. has partnered with Ubunthu Enablers to support the participating schools by supplying seeds, particularly during the rainy season.
As part of its commitment to supporting the sustainability of the project, the company has also pledged to award the two best-performing school gardens with irrigation systems. The initiative is intended to encourage schools to take ownership of the project and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Ubunthu Enablers CEO, Mr. Manfred Klepacz, and Choma Seed Co. Southern/Western Province Regional Manager, Mr. David Chandalala, in Choma.
The selection of the two best-performing schools will be based on several key criteria, including the level of ownership demonstrated by the schools, creativity, innovation, and the adoption of sustainable agricultural methods.
The Climate-Smart Agriculture and Farming as a Business Project is being implemented over an 18-month period. Key activities include training pupils, conducting Training of Trainers programs, and facilitating educational visits to the Agriculture Knowledge and Training Centre (AKTC) in Chisamba.
Through this partnership, Ubunthu Enablers and Choma Seed Co. are strengthening efforts to equip learners with practical agricultural knowledge and skills while promoting sustainable and climate-smart farming practices in schools.
