Ubunthu is very happy to announce that we were honored with participation and best upcoming Organization award under the GIZ EnACT project during one of its kind EXPO on the 13TH November 2024.
The expo took place at Mulungushi international conference center in Lusaka. in attendance was the Minister of justice Hon Princess Kasune MP, the European Union Counselor, Ten Leader-Social Sector and Governance Mr. Bogdan Stefanescu and GIZ Country Director Mr. Alex Ulmer . Other notables were Chief Cooma from choma dictrict, Chief Musokotwane of Kazungula district, Kitwe Mayor Her Worship Mpasa Mwaya.
The idea of the Expo was to give local Civil Society Organizations that are already working with GIZ an opportunity to Showcase their Impact and Feature real stories from individuals whose lives have been transformed through the CSO’s initiatives.
Other activities were to demonstrate the tangible benefits of the participating organizations and showcase the work that they are doing for the communities they serve.
It was also a way of networking among Organizations and meet possible funders and sponsors of their works, The event was meant to puts a spotlight on the various organizations work, the difference they are making by doing so everyone’s work and projects was recognized.
The main point for civil society organizations was to gain increased visibility and recognition for their respective organizations, showcasing the impact of our projects and achievements to donors and the broader audience.
Ubunthu participated at the Expo after successfully implementing a the Activating Citizen Voices for Education (ACtVE)
The ACtVE project focused on monitoring the utilization of CDF funds allocated towards the education sector for the purchase of desks. This was done by tracking the funds, and monitoring the distribution to see that both quality and quantity of desks are met.
Training of 120 citizens in budget tracking and monitoring. 1 Day Training, per Ward targeting 15 community members per ward.
